Reigning Queen: A New Miss SA 2022 Crowned
Fan favourite Ndavi Nokeri was crowned Miss South Africa 2022 during the jaw-dropping pageant finale on Saturday, 13 August.
The glittering proceedings took place at the Sun Arena in Times Square, Pretoria, Gauteng. A high-spirited presenter, Anele Mdoda, hosted the show.
The new Miss SA is originally from the town of Tzaneen, Limpopo, with both of her parents serving as pastors for the local churches. Nokeri holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Investment Management from the University of Pretoria.
Nokeri was also handed the People’s Choice award, as voted by the public.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, 14 August, she wrote: “I am at a loss for words. Thank you for showering me with all your love and for warmly embracing me. I look forward to representing you with honour and pride. To a year of impact.”
The 23-year-old was also given the keys to a Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan, which she will have at her disposal for the next year.
However, Nokeri’s reign will not always be easy: she will need to represent South Africa in the upcoming Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss Supranational pageants.
